Fancy footwork

Native American dancer David Clements, of Norman, Okla., performs a style of dance called "fancy dancing," which started in the 1950s and is distinguished by speed and intricate footwork.

At the pow wow

Matt Steed, of Greensboro, began doing traditional Native American dance when he was in the Boy Scouts. Later he researched his family tree and discovered he had a native American ancestor. He was photographed at the Annual Guilford Native American Association, Inc., Pow Wow.

Wes Tillander of Atlanta sells swords and posters Saturday at the 13th Annual Carolina Tattoo Convention in Greensboro. In his 18 years in business Tillander says he's traveled from New York to California.

Agony of defeat?

Not exactly. This Grimsley High School football player banged his knee while scoring a touchdown against Dudley High School last Friday at Dudley. Grimsley went on to win the game and the player got up and rejoined his teammates on the field.
