Pottery Benefit
Carra Woodham, 21, of Greeensboro, NC, and her sister, Tracy Woodham, 26, of Richmond, VA, check out the pottery on sale Saturday evening at the ClaySure Water Project benefit at the TwoArtChicks gallery in Greensboro. Money raised at the benefit will go to teach people in the Third World how to produce clean water using clay filters.

Best of last year
I took this photo at the Heavy Rebel Weekender in Winston-Salem. The look on the guy's face reminds me of photos of white southerners from the civil rights era: friendly but wary. I was watching the hotrods drive past and I caught him by surprise. He later told me that he thought about giving me the finger when I took the photo.
